Having missed out on tickets, and in fact because I live in Taiwan, just come back from seeing REM live. In my own head. They were pretty good, though I was surprised to hear them belting out 'Ode to Hartley' which I thought was a song only I knew. Anyway, nice to see them playing such intimate venues again.

Went to see 'Kill Bill' yesterday and have set up 'Advocates for less limb chopping off in movies' a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to lessening the number of limbs being chopped off in movies. Recent successes include managing to get Robert Rodriguez to agree to an only partial limb-sever in the up-coming 'Once Upon a Time in Mexico Again' and convincing Mike Myers to cancel plans for 'My limbs have all been chopped-off'.

I would like to thank Bob Chicago for fabulous work on my website, which will be up and running soon - www.hartleypool.com

Bob hails from Virginia, which is a constant source of amusement for him as in his frequent letters to 'TV Digest' and 'Spunk Magazine' he is always misquoted as 'Bob, Chicago'. Hilarious!

Today, quite by accident Corky came down with food poisoning. I laughingly mentioned that his arse could well do with one of the corks from his own hat. At which point he threw up.

Waiting for the tube today, it came one minute early. We, the crowd on the platform, all laughed at the strangeness of it all and something miraculous happened. In that moment of strangeness and unity, we all became one with each other. The one-minute-earliness of it all caused us to become a huge human family together, it was heart-strengthening. It was all so engrossing that, in fact, we missed the train. Apparently the driver just didn't get the vibe.

And the next one was twelve minutes late. Bastard.
